With the great profusion of vertical condominiums, balconies have become increasingly a differential item in real estate. Nowadays, they fulfill diverse functions: area of coexistence, rest, gourmet space or place for plant cultivation.

The ideal is to provide a good amount of light, but avoid glare and visual fatigue. This is because, although it has equipment such as barbecue, for example, the balconies are informal spaces, leisure and rest. So it is best to use the warm white in the lighting, to enhance the atmosphere more relaxing and cozy.
KNOW THE BEST TYPES OF LIGHTING FOR THE BALCONY
The lighting of the environments is divided into: general, being direct or indirect, in order to spread the light throughout the environment uniformly; to illuminate specific surfaces, such as benches, tables and places for reading; or decorative, to further enrich the decor.
They are the most conventional luminaires, ideal for general lighting. It can be made with recessed luminaires or ceilings, decorated or fully translucent. What is important is that it softens and distributes equally the light emitted by the lamps.
Caution: Choose medium or small ceiling panels for the balcony, even if two or more of them are required to maintain the ratio of the size of the fixtures to the room.
CHANDELIERS AND PENDANTS
There is a huge variety of models on the market in various styles of decoration. The preferred ones of the moment are the castings, of more industrial and modern aspect, or of complete finish, metallic, in colors like silver, copper or matte black.
Like plafons, they should be used in smaller sizes, even as balconies are environments where there is a lot of air circulation, which can damage parts over time or even cause accidents. However, larger chandeliers and pendants are released if your balcony has a closing system that protects from winds.
Whether inlaid or in rails, spots are great for composing task or decorative lighting, directing light to certain surfaces.
They work well for lighting meals or food preparation benches to enhance wall charts or vertical gardens. Some small size models look great built into joinery.
They are great for decorative lighting. Usually fixed to the walls, they direct vertical and / or lateral light beams, providing very beautiful effects, especially when coupled with textured coatings.
Washers are also a good choice for light indirect lighting, so that space can be used at times when too much light is not needed.
Traditionally used to illuminate paths in gardens or steps of stairs, floor lamps can also perform decorative lighting on balconies, valuing walls and vegetation.
LED tapes also serve as beacons and go very well under shelves, benches and in niches, in order to light some surface just below or compose with the decoration.
Whatever types of lighting are chosen, use LED light bulbs: despite the higher initial cost, they are more efficient and cost effective in the long run, and their durability is far superior.
Other benefits of LED technology are also significant: light suffers little or no depreciation in intensity during use and does not emit heat during the hours of operation.
