French Bread Recipe

Ingredients (French Bread):

  • 50 g butter
  • 4 dl milk
  • 1 dl junket
  • 25 g yeast
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 1 tsp fine salt
  • 800 g wheat flour

 

Approach (French Bread):

Melt the butter in a pan and remove the Pan from the heat.

Add the milk. Pour the mixture into a bowl and add curds. Crumble the yeast and stir it into the milk mixture. Add sugar and salt. Add ¾ of wheat flour and turn the dough well with a ladle until it is uniform and smooth (the batter can be slightly sticky). Tire bowl and style dough to uplift in a warm place for about 1 hour.

 

Scrape the dough out of the bowl with a spatula and place it on a floured. Knead the dough thoroughly. The dough should be able to get hands and table. Form the dough into a large, round bread and place it on a baking sheet with wax paper. Deck the bread with a tea towel and let it raise for about ½ hour. Sprinkle the bread with a thin layer of flour and rids the loaf with a sharp knife. Behind the bread at the bottom of the oven, until it is browned.
